Spark Fresh Bar

At first glance, Bloorcourt's Discharge is apparently your typical indie cafe. As well as espresso beverages you will find-above average food options, including a completely vegetarian roster of grain cartons and tacos, sandwiches, salads.

This take out counter on Dundas West serves up an ever-changing menu featuring dishes that are exceptional like pad thai salad or pakora bennies. This area is helmed by skilled chef/owner Ren Mercer, who's got 20-plus years of expertise working in high end restaurants. Expect the unexpected.

Urban Herbivore

Plant-based salads and sandwiches are some of the the specialties at this lunch counter with locations in the Eaton Centre food court and also Kensington Market. Additionally find creamy pureed soups, juices that are pressed, and fresh baked goods.

Hibiscus Cafe

The Kensington Market stalwart is a family owned and managed cafe known for gluten-free, all-natural vegetarian fare. The menu boasts crowd pleasers like buckwheat crepes, soups, salads and vegan ice creams.

It offers a meatless menu, so vegetarians need not scrutinize each dish before ordering, although the restaurant on Palmerston near School is not entirely vegetarian. Dishes evolve but their gnocchi are a sure bet.

Hogtown Vegan

Veganism do not need to be interchangeable with eating that is clean - sometimes cravings waffles and call for greasy brunch foods, filthy plates of unchicken or nachos. This is exactly where this Bloordale eatery shines, and there is a lot of beer and cocktails.

Fresh on Eglinton

With four locations throughout town, Fresh has established itself as Toronto's go-to for mostly-vegan offerings, including hamburgers, tacos and rice bowls that were gigantic. Smoothies are also offered by them and recently unveiled a cold-pressed juice line.

Live Organic Food Bar (Dupont)

The original all-natural and raw eatery on Dupont at Bathurst is so popular it sprouted a line of grocery store products, along with a satellite location in Liberty Village. Menu standouts include mung bean pancakes and manicotti stuffed with cashew dill 'ricotta".
